E! Information confirmed April 22 that Keith has filed for divorce after 12 years of marriage and is asking for momentary custody of Tyler, 9, and Violet, 7.
Contacted by E!, Sherri’s legal professional had no remark.
“Now that I’ve discovered the reality as mirrored within the plea association” Sherri made, Keith said in a declaration filed in Shasta County Superior Court docket and obtained by the Sacramento Bee, “I need to act decisively to guard my kids from the trauma attributable to their mom and produce stability and calm to their lives.”
He alleged that Sherri hadn’t seen the children since April 4 and had missed one scheduled go to, and he was asking for future visitation to be “decided by what I consider is of their greatest curiosity.”
Describing how troublesome Sherri’s disappearance was by itself, compounded by the “turmoil” of the final five-and-a-half years, he added, “We, each kids and I, want time to recuperate and stabilize.”
Keith concluded, “I want to make it clear that my purpose is to supply a loving, protected, steady setting for Tyler and Violet and I consider the requested orders are in keeping with that purpose and the most effective pursuits of the kids.” He did not wish to say something about Sherri’s case that “would inflame the state of affairs or entice media consideration.”
In the end, he said, “I’m asking that the courtroom assist me shield my kids from the unfavorable affect of their mom’s notoriety.”
