On April 19, E! Information discovered that The Goldbergs will return to ABC for a tenth season. The long-running comedy—starring Wendi McLendon-Covey, Sean Giambron and Hayley Orrantia—will return with out Jeff Garlin, who exited the sequence again in December. Garlin left the sequence after a number of complaints about his habits on set resulted in an HR investigation.

Renewal hopes first started again in March when E! Information confirmed that McLendon-Covey—who stars as overprotective and lovable mom Beverly Goldberg—had closed a brand new deal to return to the ABC comedy.
